Tory Burch takes us back to the 80’s with her Katie Fisherman Bag. “Like the ultimate magpie find, the Katie Fisherman Bag perfectly captures the season’s global influence and brings it effortlessly to any ensemble. Eclectic details, like patterns based on traditional mochila craftsmanship mix with pom-poms, elaborate beadwork and colorful embroidery to tell a traveler’s tale. A mirrored dreamcatcher, the style’s centerpiece, conjures a treasured souvenir. It’s a wearable conversation — and runway — piece that adds an eclectic element to simple monochromatic outfits or head-to-toe bohemian looks.”

Tory Burch feels everyone should treat themselves to a ‘large statement piece.’ A bracelet by Kara Ross accompanied this statement in InStyle magazine.
Kara Ross uses unique materials in her designs such as marcasite, lava and chalcedony. “With a minimalist vibe and architectural look, her cuffs, earrings, necklaces and rings showcase vibrantly-colored stones and sharp angles to produce a jewelry version of a Pucci scarf. The pieces exhibit a modern Italian look with their elongated gems, simple forms and sleek, curved gold accents.”

I could not help myself…sorry…the pun was perfect. InStyle’s “As Seen on the Runway” article is entitled Tusks & Teeth. Quoting…“Rhino and shark inspired accents are a natural match for slinky vests and leather or denim minis. But please, no animal prints.”
The sterling earrings are from IJA Designs. Additional designs can be found at Tory Burch and Donna Karan.

I may have escaped Ohio in time to avoid back to back snowstorms, but it is February and spring still seems so very far away. The cuff bracelets from Marc Jacobs and the necklace from Tory Burch were in an article about St. Tropez style. St. Tropez conjures up images of sun drenched beaches and alfresco cafes.

The title of this necklace from Tory Burch is perfect. It definitely has a ‘Cleopatra’ feel to it.
I recently learned that the hot style this fall utilizing ribbon closures is called a bib necklace. Talk about ‘duh’ moments. It certainly solves the length problem. Here are links to previous posts featuring ribbon closures.
When I clicked on the jewelry link on the Tory Burch site the gold bar necklace was the feature item…WOW!!!

What an interesting combination!!! Several months ago I featured necklaces with ribbon closures. Feather & crystal necklaces from the Tory Burch fall line also use this closure. To quote Tory Burch…“Layer the textures and materials and make jewelry your own”. Great advice for all of us in our creative process.

The featured item from Tory Burch is an example of a fall trend…studded accessories. “Tory Burch is an attainable, luxury, lifestyle brand defined by classic American sportswear with an eclectic sensibility, which embodies the personal style and spirit of its co-founder and creative director, Tory Burch.”
Tory Burch site has several necklaces with the ribbon closure…the ‘hot-hot-hot’ trend.

Red is hot…and so is the South Carolina Beach…100+ the last two days!!! Luckily, I am an early riser and Rogan, our lab, and I walk the beach at sunrise.
Back to red. Last fall, the predominate color at the High Point Furniture Market was a deep red. I always forget whether fashion or home decor determines the color trends. I’m still not sure, but I am certainly seeing a great deal of red in both areas.
The feature photo is a tunic from Tory Burch. The simplicity of the style allows the color and and the central element to pop off the page of the July Town and Country.
