Prior to taking the position as Design Director, Francesca Amfitheatrof requested a visit to the Tiffany archives. She discovered that through Tiffany’s 177 year history there was much more than ‘traditional’ design. It was a geometric necklace with clean lines and a square setting that inspired the Tiffany T Collection. “A trained jeweler and silversmith, design director Francesca Amfitheatrof reimagined the letter T as a piece of engineering, which you can see in the mechanisms for cuffs. The T is sculptural and bold and very closely linked to the architecture of New York City,”

paloma picassoPaloma Picasso was destined to become an artist. “Paloma Picasso, the daughter of Pablo Picasso, was born on April 19, 1949, in Vallauris, France. In 1986, Picasso was working as a costume designer when some of her jewelry creations caught the attention of critics. She went on to design jewelry for Zolotas, Yves Saint Laurent and Tiffany and Co. She eventually launched her own line, creating perfume and designer accessories.”

jeanschlumbergerA recent Tiffany & Co. ad featured one of their jewelry designers…Jean Schlumberger. I have been focusing on bangle bracelets for years. The surface of bangle bracelets is the perfect canvas for surface designs & cane work.
Jean Schlumberger’s bangles divide the surface into small sections and repeats a single element in each section. What a wonderful way to ‘hide’ the seam.
