The timeless Suzani pattern has been featured here multiple times…four to be exact. Williams-Sonoma updated the color palette with persimmon and coral. The warm gold and sage green are the perfect compliment to carry this pattern into a new generation…and maybe an interesting cane.

My heart felt like it was skipping beats while I toured the web site of Madeline Weinrib. Her ads in Veranda have always stopped my page turning. LOVE THEM!!! There is nothing ornate or complicated about the designs…just simple repetitions. The color palates are equally simple…four colors at most.

Several months ago a post featured Suzani embroidery. Jayson Home and Garden has several Suzani boxes in the Accessory-Tabletop section of the website.
This is a robust website…full of great design inspiration.
Suzani Embroidery

In yesterday’s post I linked to a textile page. I noticed the term Suzani. I assumed that was the name of the designer or a collection. Today I ran across the term again on another web page. I now realize it refers to a specific design or type of textile.
“The term Suzani means “needlework”–specifically, the exquisite silk thread embroidery panels made by Uzbek women. Traditionally this embroidery work began at the birth of a daughter and continued, with the help of family and friends, until the bride’s dowry was complete.”
In the next few days I will be featuring several Suzani resouces.
