If you have a bit of extra money to spend, rush over to Burberry for the hand painted Bloomsbury bag. If not, find a leather bag in the closet or thrift store, pull out your stash of acrylic paints, channel first grade art class and you will be saving anywhere from $3,000 to $37,000. OH…of course, there are the shoes…do not forget the shoes!!!

Rarely do we think of shoes when we describe the designs of Emilio Pucci…my mind conjures up swirls of brightly hued color. (Follow this link for a tour of ‘vintage’ Pucci designs) The dragon carved wedge sandals jumped off the page of the May Elle Magazine. Better save your pennies though…they can be yours for $4,695.
Happy Memorial Day to all who have served and are serving our country…that would include many family members including my father and father-in-law. We thank you for your sacrifice and your service.
In addition, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, to my baby sister on a milestone birthday. Don’t worry Anne…your secret is safe with me!!!

Dolce & Gabbana are always pushing the envelope…or in this case…the shoe!!! “Dolce & Gabbana Platform Cake Shoes We’ve always been told not to play with our food, but Dolce & Gabbana’s never been one to follow rules! For spring the label toyed with pepper prints, macaroni bracelets and now these confectionary heels. It’s a fitting inspiration, since great shoes complete an outfit much like dessert does a delicious meal.”

I am a shoe freak…the more the better…if they fit…buy them in every color. Or in the Case of the Kimball Art Center in Utah…SHOW THEM!!! “The Perfect Fit: Shoes Tell Stories explores the cultural meaning of shoes, presenting imaginative and provocative objects of every size and medium from clay, metal and fabric to wood, glass and paper. In this show, shoes created by 100 artists from all over the U.S. plus Canada and Israel express more than their role as footwear; they contain multiple meanings that speak to issues of gender, history, sexuality, race and class.”
WOO…HOO!!! I made it through the week with a post every day. Next week will be equally crazy…CAN I DO IT…YES I CAN!!!

You know how this ends…buy it in every color. Like most women…I LOVE SHOES!!! My sister, Eileen, said it is because I spent 12 years wearing saddle shoes in Catholic schools. This whimsical necklace by James Thurman is a hoot. Wait until you see the bracelets on his home page…WOW!!!

I have a pair of Chuck Taylor’s that always elicit comments whenever I wear them. They are white with black and pink line art on the heel area. Well……..Converse has done one better…Design Your Own! I had more fun playing with color and print options. I didn’t order a pair…yet!
