nurartaembroideryWhile working with a customer in the showroom today, I discovered this amazing fabric from F Schumacher. It works with our theme of Ottoman Rules from last week. The fabric is called Nurata Embroidery in Coral. The following is a description of the design’s “roots”.
“Adapted from an antique piece of a traditional Central Asian embroidery design, this print features a growing vine of pomegranates and flowers. Attributed to C F A Voysey, the pattern is a fine example of the tulip detail so typical of the late nineteenth century. Contrary to the Watts normal practise of recreating a design true to its original interpretation, in the Camberwell the subtle characteristic blemishes of age evident on the fragment have been carefully retained. “

sonrizaI love this quote from the spokesperson for Mystic Paint With energy and warmth, but without the brashness of red or the excitability of yellow, orange stimulates the senses and even the appetite. Making it great for dynamic conversations in the living room, or delicious dinner parties in the dining room.”
I walked around the showroom looking for a bright orange to feature with this quote. This Trina Turk Sonriza print from Schumacher jumped out from the 80,000 fabrics we have in the Columbus showroom.
