It appears the Spring/Summer 2013 is going to be one 60’s retro style after another. The crisp checkerboard pattern from Louis Vuitton follows in the footsteps of the ‘posies’ from Prada. BTW…the video is a visual feast.

One of the fashion trends for this year is flowers that are little more than scalloped dots...or as my mother called them posies. This is a trend that could easily be translated in a multitude of mediums…clay, metal, fiber etc. While the flowers on the featured dress from Prada are more defined, I wanted to show the pop of red on a smoky gray/black background…definitely A WE CAN DO THIS.
I HAD to add the ‘posy’ covered shoes…in my case…a broken ankle waiting to happen!!!

Designs like this inspire me to have fun in the studio…RELAX…TAKE THE TIME TO EXPLORE THE FRIVOLOUS NOW AND THEN!!!

Artist James Jean started working in the fashion world in 2007. Jean, known for his woodland sprites, was asked by Prada to create a mural for the spring 2008 collection. Thus began a collaboration between the artist and the fashion industry that has evolved into Jean’s line of jewelry OVM.

The devil may wear Prada but we do not have to be devilish to wear an armful of Prada style bangles. These definitely fall into the ‘we can do this’ category…and they will not cost $125 each…a devilish price. Scroll through the photos on the Sandra’s Closet site to see colorful bangles from wrist to elbow.
