The packaging for SJC NCY jumps off the page. Cosmetic & perfume packaging can make or break an item. While I’m not sure if this is a sales winner, it is certainly wins my approval for color and design combinations. Sarah Jessica Parker’s dress in the background gives the ad additional energy.

The packaging of a fragrance is a very sophisticated art. The visual appeal of the bottle is what attracts the customer…like a bee to a flower. An earlier post featured a beautiful bottle by Marc Jacobs. That bottle was colorful and playful. The Natori fragrance drew my interest because of the simple shape and the ‘midnight’ purple color of the bottle.

Alas, my favorite fragrance doesn’t come in an interesting bottle. Diorissimo was created in 1956…the heart of the mid-century modern era. The bottle has the no muss-no fuss simplicity of that age.

My heart skipped a few beats when I saw the cap for the Lola perfume bottle from Marc Jacobs. Love the shape. Love the colors. Love the design. And…we can do this!!! This design would make a beautiful pin.
