So Young Park’s childhood was spent near the ocean in the southern part of Korea. “So Young used to play with sea life and plants and collected many different kinds of shells and pebbles. She loved touching and observing the surface texture and pattern of shells and various naturally shaped pebbles during her happy childhood.”
Scroll through her site for a feast of textures and forms.

We have discussed restraint in design multiple times. Autore falls somewhere between restrained and statement. The scroll of photos on the web page was enough for me to search for items to feature here. The site is a visual feast of color, nature and jewelry. In addition, I learned a great deal about the business and history of pearls.
For additional photos check out The Gloss…love the earrings and the cuff!!!

I should make these colorful earrings to wear on the 4th of July. They look like fireworks for the ear. When I broke the elements down the design became a ‘we can do this’ item. The Amanda Sterett site is full of color. The wire artists should check out the Signature Collection.
I can’t believe the year is half over. Thank you to all who bookmarked this site. The daily numbers have grown steadily this year. Thank you to everyone who has suggested a link. It is fun to see what inspires you. I am always a little frustrated when I find a great link…but can’t find photos for the site. I keep reminding myself there are ‘plenty of other fish in the sea’…a direct quote from my mother when I was frustrated by something!!!

Last August a post featured a gold cuff bracelet from Miriam Haskell. If you follow the link you will see layers of gold petals accented by pearls. Today’s post is simpler but just as striking. I think it may be extruder time again. Imagine wrapping an armature with extruded color and then accenting the ends with crystals or pearls. I think we can do this!!!

It is time to move back to jewelry inspirations. All of the recent magazines are full of holiday styles…and of course, this is the sparkle season. Heidi Klum, the face of the Ann Taylor holiday ad campaign is covered with pearls, pave and sparkle.
After I saw this ad, I had to explore the Ann Taylor site for details. Follow the link for the pearl & pave necklace…very nice!!!
