The cover of the latest Ornament features whimsical enameled rings from Sarah Hood.  Her work has interesting origins: “My enthusiasm for gardening, botany, literature, children’s toys, eastern philosophy, and travel all make their way into my jewelry.” She combines precious metals with rather ordinary materials…coconut shells, model railroad landscape materials, and chestnuts. The latest issue of Ornament magazine has an article about Judith Kinghorn. “Her signature work is constructed from sheets of twenty-four karat gold and sterling fused together by means of a mouth blowpipe or torch.” Enjoy the beautiful pieces on her web site and check out additional pieces in Ornament.
