pollackBack to Elle…We are now on page 7. The ad for Pollack Fabrics jumped from the page. During the last few months I’ve mentioned magenta and orange as hot color trends…they are ‘sizzlin’ when used in combination. This is not one of the fabric lines we carry…but I have been adding a new collection from S. Harris to the showroom floor and noticed this color combination.

bongenreMelamine: The plastic dinnerware that was so popular in the 50’s & 60’s. It is indestructible. This melamine dinnerware has a new twist…vivid colors and patterns.
The feature plate is the Winchester Mandala plate from Bongenre. The color options are amazing…of course I chose the Magenta colorway. The description of this pattern reads:
“The elaborate star used in this pattern is both a Western-style stained glass window motif and an Eastern-style mandala. The pattern comes in a large variety of hues, and the unusual five-piece tray set goes with all the differing versions.”

magentaThe May 28 Wall Street Journal Personal Journal section features the HOT color for fall fashion…Magenta. Since there is a cross over to men’s fashion, as well,  the headline reads…Mangenta. There is even a kitchen from Clive Christian with pink accents.
The cover of New York magazine’s design issue this month shows a gleeful model tossing a can of fuchsia paint across the white cover. The concept suggests devil-may-care fun.”

Since this is my favorite color my heart is singing.  After years of black, gray and brown for fall the stores will be full of color with Magenta leading the pack.
