Although acrylics and magazines are not high end materials, in the hands of Jennifer Merchant they are transformed into jewelry that is carried in some very high end galleries throughout the country. “My journey began with a love of metals. I received a BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design in Metals and Jewelry. Due to the cost involved working in metal I chose to transition to alternative materials shortly after graduating. I now create exciting works that blur the line between art and fashion using acrylic layered around found imagery. I create innovative jewelry pieces with a fine art sensibility.”
