gucci-editedYikes!!! It has been almost two months since my last post. My excuse…well, travel, working at and for the Co-Op and…procrastination!!!

As an amends, I found the perfect ‘back to work’ featured photo. It doesn’t get any better than ants, snakes, butterflies, lady bugs and beetles on silk organdy. gucciI returned from two weeks of warm temperatures and sunshine to 30 degrees and NO sunshine. But…the mailbox was full of March fashion issues and SPRING colors…AHHHH!

Spring is always colorful after the muted, translation…drab, colors of Fall and Winter. So far, this fabulous ad from Gucci is my favorite…and it is only page 14. Love the swirls of color…and that necklace…AMAZING!!!

My first impression of this bracelet from Gucci was a horseshoe…at $990…an expensive horseshoe. Then I looked at it in a different light…we can do this!!! Let’s see…10 or 12 gauge wire for an armature, an interesting bead for the ‘end cap’, extrude a hollow core base, cover with a great polymer design…WE HAVE A BRACELET!!!

The Spring 2010 Gucci collection features Ikat pattern fabric. This timeless design element is also a favorite of the polymer world. I love the color combination of the the featured photo. Orange seems to be the ‘hot’ color for Spring. Later this week we’ll see some very ‘interesting’ orange designs.

Even though I’m in South Carolina we are setting cold temperature records this week. The pink and white ikat makes me think of warm summer days. Spring arrives in February in South Carolina…only 25 more days.
