Linda Ladurner’s work speaks for itself…bold, focused fascinating. While her internet presence is confined to Pinterest,…what could be better than letting your work tell your story? “I work alone, with silver, gold and gemstones, and only make one of a kind. I make jewellery for the human body, my pieces must be easy to wear, and nice to touch. I want women (or men) to be active, my pieces should accompany them anywhere, it gives my works more life and meaning. Wearability, also durability are aspects in jewellery I very much care about.”

Peg Fetter likes the juxtaposition of raw steel with diamonds and gold. “Peg Fetter creates work that balances between toughness and delicacy, that combines the intrinsic preciousness of jewelry with the edginess of blacksmithing”
One Simple Word

This simple circle bracelet from Bulgari defines a trend that is hot…hot…hot!!! One of the best selling items in a local gallery is a pair of silver earrings. One earring is a rectangle, the other a circle, and each has one word stamped on the surface. If you look at the mechanics of the Bulgari bracelet it is very simple…although the gold brings the price up to $1759. We can do this…but not in gold…I will opt for copper!
Design at our Fingertips

One of the most beautiful design elements in the world is always at our fingertips…literally!!! Cartier has taken advantage of the beauty of fingerprints by featuring them as the background of their advertising campaigns. I love the new collection…Trinity. The background is fingerprints in gold, silver and rose. The Trinity collection echos these colors in white, yellow and rose gold with a with rows of diamonds.
Fingerprints have forever been the bane of artists and polymer artists are no exception. For several years I’ve looked at fingerprints on my work as the hand of the artist that sets the item apart from mass or machine manufactured pieces.

This cuff from Miriam Haskell jumped off the page of dramatic gold cuff bracelets…of course, it was the most expensive on the page also…$570. I love the description: “Layers of Russian gold plated brass petals, filigrees and findings handwired onto cuff bracelet. Width of bracelet is 3 inches with a 1.75″ opening. The inside is lined with navy blue faux suede.”
