The dress from Lauren Pierce is the type of design I LOVE to feature. Lauren Bush is the ‘brains’ behind the design. (Yes, she is a member of THE Bush family.) Her label focuses on eco-friendly materials utilizing bamboo, organic cotton, hemp & silk.

“Each collection supports local artisans – often women – in developing countries by purchasing fabric from them, thus supporting their livelihoods and traditional crafts.”

vivaterraI was immediately drawn to this colorful mirror by Vivaterra when I found it in a trade periodical. Then, I read the source of the wood panels I was hooked…literally. “Culled from dismantled Thai fishing boats, these painted wooden panels display weathered marine hues with a unique pastel warmth and variety of markings. The sea’s loss is our gain, for when assembled as a frame, they create a delightful visual terrain of form and color.” (My apologies for the pun.)
