The Ikat pattern is a polymer classic. Dries Van Noten’s Spring 2010 collection has focused on Ikat patterns for inspiration. If you scroll through the whole collection you will find more than Ikat for inspiration. The color combinations and simple lines are inspiring me to take up sewing again.

Be sure to note the jewelry…simple yet striking.

The beaded necklaces from Dries Van Noten remind me of a game of Tetris. Gold, silver, black, and emerald cubes mixed with round pearls and faceted crystals. What a great combination!!!

dvnMy grandfather & mother were both artists. I have two uncles who are engineers. My right brain and left brain genes are constantly working. I think that is why I am drawn to the spring/summer collection from Dries Van Noten. The fabrics are sumptuous and the design elements organized. The link will lead you to a video of the collection (clic -Women’s & then click-Show Video).  Or you can take your time and ‘click’ through the images to see the fabrics in depth. (Actually the video is worth watching…but it moves verrrrrrrrrrry slowly)
