Yayoi Kusama’s obsession with polka dots led her to paint them on everything from trees to naked bodies. Marc Jacobs, a long time fan of her work, has designed a collection of clothes, leather goods, and jewelry bearing her trademark psychedelic patterns for Louis Vuitton. It was difficult to select just one photo of her work…so I am including links to Google Images and to Poul Webb’s art blog…enjoy!!!

There is a full page in the April Elle devoted to spots & dots. I can’t resist a series of posts focusing on this playful design element. I’m already thinking of a new necklace featuring dots in primary colors.
The featured photo is from Shannon Carney. Shannon’s work features contemporary design in traditional and non-traditional materials.

Tough Decision…which piece/pieces to feature???????
When I discovered the Jamie Harris Studio site I was immediately drawn to the color combinations & shapes of the wave bottles in the Studio Line…as you scroll through the options you will move to the Onda collection…WOW!!! I love the playful design element as well as the repetition. You will immediately feel at home in the Dots Collection.
