This ring from Verdura features diamonds on a bed of turquoise…nice combination. (The beautiful cuff  you see on the home page is the iconic bracelet that was designed for Coco Chanel.)

Veranda magazine “celebrates the winners of the second annual Art of Design Awards, which honor design industry trailblazers whose work is both innovative and timeless.”  Allessio Boschi of Autore is the winner in the jewelry category. OK…if you move beyond the diamonds and the gold you have a timeless design that falls into the ‘we can do this’ category. The Love Knot bracelet from Vahan in the June/July Town & Country stopped my page flipping. While the majority of designs at Vahan are waaaaaaaaay too elaborate,  I did find the idea of the same design with increasingly larger dimensions interesting.

“String a bead and they will come”...is the idea behind Catherine Beth’s collection of bracelets featuring exotic stones and diamonds. David Webb was considered the ‘go-to’ jeweler in the 50’s & 60’s. “The jewelry was delicate, ladylike and traditional, yet at times bursting with his love for nature and overflowing with floral motifs and animal imagery.” Although David Webb died in 1975, he left 50,000 sketches of designs in the archives of his company. “While working for an interior design company in South Korea, Sukyo Jang discovered jewelry design and fell in love.” I can certainly relate. Every day in the office I see a fabric, wallpaper or a project a designer is working on and my mind starts to whirl with ideas.

I am keeping my fingers crossed. My computer is acting up…hope to file this post and then let McAfee finish the scan and work its magic!!!
