Recently, I have participated in several charm swaps. After the bracelets are assembled they are always fun to wear and a conversation piece. The featured bracelet from Venessa Arizaga is a feast for the eyes…a little bit of ‘everything’. The jewelry on her site has fanciful names…I love Buried Past and Pearls for Girls.

Charms seem to be everywhere this year…including the featured earrings from bebe. Stroll through the jewelry page for more interesting items. The necklaces and bracelets made by weaving  fabric through through chunky chains caught my eye. While bebe ads are typically very provocative, I was surprised by the simple character of the designs and the prices.

Sorry!!! The pun was too good to pass on. I saw this necklace from Yves Saint Laurent on a swimsuit model in a recent magazine. I’m not sure if I could carry off the scale of the charms…but it looked great on the model. (Of course the model was tall and reed thin…adjectives that will never be used to describe me.)

fenton2The feature bracelet is from Fenton. The Fenton site is full of interesting shapes and design combinations. While looking for the charm bracelet I came across several other noteworthy sites…Fashionphile and Charm and Chain.

Last summer I participated in a charm swap. I have the worst luck with swaps…but when 14 artists are involved there is ‘safety’ in numbers.  Dee Wilder demonstrated the bracelet assembly and I am now the proud owner of a fabulous charm bracelet.

(Please forgive me…I couldn’t resist the pun in the title.)
