Caetano de Almeida’s abstract paintings are inspired by the colors and rhythms of his native Brazil. After years of using paint and ink he has begun creating canvases covered in strips of tape and then exposed over several months to the ambient pollution of Sao Paulo. I wonder what polymer would look like if I added tape and let it sit in the heat and humidity of South Carolina this summer?
