The recent move to reclaimed materials in jewelry started with the cost or raw materials and has moved to an appreciation of the beauty found only in materials with a previous life. Trish Collins “has always been intrigued by the untold story trapped within the rust. It brings forth something buried deep within, a primal connection to the past. In our busy throw away world we overlook simple beauty and forget to honor the mundane. My jewelry was created for just that reason. I use etched, reclaimed metals in conjunction with new, mix symbolism from many cultures and combine comforting geometric shapes in unexpected ways.”
