Inspired by ancient textile designs, Indian jeweler Coomi Bhasin’s utilizes ancient artifacts in her pieces. “Wearable art” says Coomi, “is how I like to think of my designs. I graduated with a textile degree from university and went on to do my thesis in jewelry. “Anything I do tells a story,” Having launched in 2002, her previous collections have incorporated ancient Roman glass, or coins from the days of Alexander the Great. For fall 2013, Bhasin’s one-of-a-kind rings, necklaces, and earrings combine diamonds, 20-karat gold, and arrowheads from the Paleolithic era.
