K. Claire MacDonald’s latest work is a deconstruction and then reconstruction of  craft and fine art. ” Metals such as copper, brass, and sterling silver are combined with elements of wood and fragments of original acrylic paintings to create a discourse surrounding disciplinary hierarchy. Through experimentation with simple woodwork along with traditional metal repousse, I have created forms that reference traditional framework. This serves as a grounding platform on which I then display painted segments that have been directly cut and removed from some of my original paintings.”
