Beverly Tadeau has lived a nomadic life, residing for more than 15 years in various contries in Latin America. This nomadic life led to a series of designs focused on the concept of being rooted. “There are layers of meaning in the word ‘root’ that belie its seeming simplicity. Integral in the word one finds anchoring, family, lineage, nourishment and growth. Each of these meanings is woven metaphorically into the raw, sensual and earthy Rooted creations.”
Her root jewelry combines oxidezed silver and 18 carat gold forming a cage of pattern. The designs appear to be fragile but the multiple solder points connecting the contrasting metals create a durable and wearable piece.
