I was intrigued by a small photo announcing an exhibit featuring the designs of Roberto Capucci at the Philadelphia Museum. The color originally drew me to the the photograph and then the texture…ruffles and ruffles and more ruffles. “During his 60-plus-year career, Roberto Capucci dressed such sirens as Gloria Swanson and Marilyn Monroe. Today, thanks to a new exhibition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Italian couturier’s pleated gowns and other innovative creations become stars in their own right.”
