Elisa D’Arrigo uses memories, both physical and mental, to build her fiber art pieces. “Sometimes the materials themselves are infused with the past. “Cross Section #4” (2004) incorporates my children’s outgrown socks in a progression of sizes and collected over a five-year span. Increasingly, I am utilizing recycled garments once worn by family and friends. The works become accretions of accumulated experience.”
Thank you to Eileen McGee, one the fiber artists in our family, for the link.
