The photo and link are a little removed from my typical subject matter. In the 2/8/11 Wall Street Journal there was a article about Egyptian Heritage Preservation during the uprisings and a link to the Bilbliotecha Alexandrina. The first paragraph of the article caught my attention: “Looking like a massive computer chip or the disc of the sun rising up from the Mediterranean coast, the hypermodern successor to the ancient library of Alexandria stands out as a beacon of hope, efficiency and enlightenment among the crumbling buildings of Egypt’s second-largest city.”
