If tangerine is the color of the year…then its first cousin…coral is enjoying the extended limelight. Fabrics are covered with coral elements…in all colors, and coral is also a popular design element in jewelry. I was drawn to this cuff by Aurelie Biderman because they are not using ‘real’ coral…but an enameled metal in a coral patterrn and color.

As I write this post, it is cold…dreary…rainy… Sara Beltran’s Mexican Bracelets are just what the doctor ordered to bring Vitamin D into any day…bright…sunny…cheerful. “A lot of her pieces are shells that she picks from the ocean and then makes a mold and then casts them in 18k gold, mostly pink gold. She loves using raw material as polka diamonds, kyanites stones, fossilized shark teeth, and fossilized shells. After 12 years of living in New York, the artist now calls Jaipur, India home.”

A photo of Kaz Robertson’s colorful resin bangles started my search for post material. “Interaction and versatility are two of the most important aspects of my work. I like the wearer to be able to play with my jewellery creating new pieces. Setting magnets within the resin provides a way of changing each piece easily. Ring tops can be swapped, bangles stick together, neckpieces interconnect.”
